Installing your Analytic website tracking data

After  you have a valid Gmail account and have signed in, you'll need to set up your account with analytics for the first time. You will only need to do this once.

    step3

  2. The following screen will allow you add apps and personalize your account. You will probably not see Analytics in this screen. You will, after following these steps, but for now, we have to get Analytics to show up on this page. So we need to add it.Google must like to not make things easy, so you need to click the "More>>" link near the bottom of the page. (see image below)

  3. Finding the "Business Solutions" link
The next screen is full of colorful icons for apps you can add. We just want to add Analytics. Surprisingly, that icon is NOT on this page. Down at the very bottom is a link that says "Business Solutions." Click that link. (see image below)

  5. Good grief! Will this ever end? Like I said, Google doesn't exactly make this easy...
Now that we're finally on the Google Analytics page, all you have to do is, er, sign up again. By signing up again, this will tell your account that you are a member of Analytics, and it will show up in your account area the next time you log in. So, click the "Sign Up Now" link. (see image below)

  6. This will take you to a log in page. Type your password for your Gmail account and click "Sign in."

  7. You should finally see your domain name and a "View report" link. You'll see some information here like visits, percent change, bounce rate. But for in depth information, you will need to see the report. (see image below)

By following these steps, the next time you sign in to your Google account, you should see the "Analytics" icon under your products: Just click this new icon and skip all the above steps forever!
